in the centre - the emblem of the Bank of Russia [the two-headed eagle with wings down, under it - the semicircular inscription "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA)] framed by a circle of dots and inscriptions along the rim - on top: "ДВАДЦАТЬ ПЯТЬ РУБЛЕЙ" (TWENTY FIVE RUBLES), below: to the left - indications of the precious metal and its fineness, in the centre - the year of issue "2009 г." (2009), to the right - the fine metal content and the mint trade mark.

Reverse

in the frame of stylized arc - the architectural panorama of the St. Anthonius Monastery, inscriptions along the rim - on top on the matted surface of the arc: "ВЕЛИКИЙ НОВГОРОД И ОКРЕСТНОСТИ" (VELIKIY NOVGOROD AND SUBBURBS), on bottom: "АНТОНИЕВ МОНАСТЫРЬ" (ST. ANTHONIUS MONASTERY).

St. Anthonius Monastery is the ancient architectural monument of the XIIth century. The Our Lady Nativity Cathedral (1117-1119), Candlemas Church (XVI c), Treasurer's cells (XVII c), and library building (XVIII c) have survived till our days.
