Obverse

the mirror field of the disc bears a relief image of the National Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation, over it along the rim there is the semicircular inscription "РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ" (RUSSIAN FEDERATION) framed on both sides by doubled rhombuses, below under the coat of arms there are indications of the precious metal and its fineness on the left and the fine metal content and the mint trade mark on the right, at the bottom in the centre, in three lines, there is an inscription "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA), the denomination of the coin "3 РУБЛЯ" (3 RUBLES), and the year of issue "2019 г." (2019).

Reverse

the mirror field of the disc features a multi-coloured Summit emblem dividing the coin surface into two parts: the upper half features a coloured image of the contour of the territory of the Russian Federation, and the lower part – of the territory of Africa; there are two inscriptions above the emblem: ‘СОЧИ’ (SOCHI) on the left and ‘2019’ on the right.

The Russia–Africa Summit will be held on 23–24 October 2019 at the Sirius Park of Science and Art and will be co-chaired by the President of the Russian Federation and the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt and African Union Chairman.

The Russia–Africa Summit is the first event of its kind in the history of Russian–African relations to which the head of every African state and the leaders of major regional associations and organizations have been invited.

The Summit will focus particular attention on actual and potential relations between Russia and the nations of Africa, the development of interaction in the political, economic, humanitarian, and cultural fields among others with an emphasis on finding ways to accelerate and develop the entire range of Russian–African cooperation in a systematic way.

Plans call for an in-depth exchange of views on the development of coordinated measures to counter terrorism, cross-border crime, and other challenges and threats to regional and global security.
