Obverse
in the centre - the emblem of the Bank of Russia [the two-headed eagle with wings down, under it - the semicircular inscription "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA)] framed by a circle of dots and inscriptions along the rim - on top: "ТРИ РУБЛЯ" (THREE RUBLES), below: to the left - indications of the precious metal and its fineness, in the centre - the year of issue "2010 г." (2010), to the right - the fine metal content and the mint trade mark.
Reverse
In the centre - the matted image of the map of Russia, over it - inscription in two lines: "ВСЕРОССИЙСКАЯ ПЕРЕПИСЬ НАСЕЛЕНИЯ" (THE RUSSIAN GENERAL CENSUS), to the left - the emblem of the Census with the date "2010", above - the colored image of the national flag of the Russian Federation, on bottom - inscription along the rim: "РОССИИ ВАЖЕН КАЖДЫЙ" (EVERYBODY IS IMPORTANT FOR RUSSIA).

The Russian Census of the population will be held in the Russian Federation in October 2010 to the second time (the first one took place in 2002). In the Soviet Union the censuses were carried out seven times within 1926-1989. In the Russian Empire there was only one census of population in 1897.
