Obverse

in the centre - the emblem of the Bank of Russia [the two-headed eagle with wings down, under it - the semicircular inscription "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA)] framed by a circle of dots and inscriptions along the rim - on top: "ТРИ РУБЛЯ" (THREE RUBLES), below: to the left - indications of the precious metal and its fineness, in the centre - the year of issue "2008 г." (2008), to the right - the fine metal content and the mint trade mark.

Reverse

In the centre - the image of the Cathedral of Nativity of Our Lady of the Svetogorsk Monastery, under it - the inscription in two lines: "СНЕТОГОРСКИЙ МОНАСТЫРЬ" (SNETOGORSK MONASTERY), to the right - the fragment of a stylized ornament, below it- the inscription : "ПСКОВ" (PSKOV) and the date: "XIV в." (the XIVth century) in two lines, on top - the inscription along the rim: "СОБОР РОЖДЕСТВА БОГОРОДИЦЫ" (THE CATHEDRAL 0F NATIVITY OF OUR LADY).

The Cathedral of Nativity of Our Lady of Snetogorsk Monastery built in 1310 in the suburbs of the City of Pskov and decorated with frescos in 1313 is one of the oldest maintained monument of the ancient Russian architectural and painting art of the Pskov school.
