Obverse

in the centre - the emblem of the Bank of Russia [the two-headed eagle with wings down, under it - the semicircular inscription "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA)] framed by a circle of dots and inscriptions along the rim - on top: "ТРИ РУБЛЯ" (THREE RUBLES), below: to the left - indications of the precious metal and its fineness, in the centre - the year of issue "2008 г." (2008), to the right - the fine metal content and the mint trade mark.

Reverse

in the centre - the Cathedral of Saint Demetrius, to the right and to the left of it - matted images of fragments of carving on stone, above - the inscription along the rim: "ДМИТРИЕВСКИЙ СОБОР XII в." (THE CATHEDRAL OF SAINT DEMETRIUS XIIth century), below - the inscription in line: "г. ВЛАДИМИР" (THE CITY OF VLADIMIR).

The Cathedral of Saint Demetrius in the City of Vladimir built in 1194-1197 by the Prince Vsevolod III as the Court Church in honor to Saint Demetrius, the patron of the prince, is the unique monument of the Suzdal-Vladimir white-stone architecture. The main feature of the Cathedral is its exterior with around 15 hundred stones covered with carved sculptural decor. The Cathedral is entered to the List of the World Cultural Heritage of UNESCO.
