Obverse

in the centre – the Emblem of the Bank of Russia [the two-headed eagle with wings down, lower – the semicircular inscription – «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA)] framed by a circle of dots andinscriptions along the rim: at the top – «ТРИ РУБЛЯ» (THREE RUBLES), at the bottom – the year ofissue «2004», the letters to the left indicate the metalsign and the fineness, to the right – the fine metal content and the mint trade mark.

Reverse

to the left – outlines of Western Europe, lower a football being the first figure «0» of the date «2004», to the right a footballer during a play. The inscription along the rim: «ЧЕМПИОНАТ ЕВРОПЫ ПО ФУТБОЛУ • ПОРТУГАЛИЯ» («EUROPEAN FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP • PORTUGAL»).
