Obverse

Marbled polecat (Vormela peregusna), a mammal species belonging to the family Mustelidae, which is the only species in its genus. It is classified as a vulnerable species in the IUCN Red List, while its status in the Red Data Book of the Russian Federation is undetermined. Data on the current population size are unavailable. In Russia, the marbled polecat is found on shrubby hills and in the steppes of the steppe zone of the Southern and Siberian Federal Districts. The factors restricting its population growth include limited food resources (small mammal population size) as well as predatory birds.
