in the centre – the Emblem of the Bank of Russia [the two-headed eagle with wings down, lower – the semicircular inscription – «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA)] framed by a circle of dots and inscriptionsalong the rim: at the top – «ДВА РУБЛЯ «(TWO RUBLES), at the bottom – the year of issue «2004», the letters to the left indicate the metal sign and the fineness, to the right – the fine metal content and the mint trade mark.
Reverse
a portrait of M.I. Glinka with the facsimile signature of the composer «М.И. ГЛИНКА «(M.I.GLINKA) under it, lower – a facsimile fragment of the music alnotation from the opera score «Life Sacrificed for Tsar» and the dates in two lines: «1804-1857», to the right – a lyre with the olive twig, in the background to the right – outlines of cupolas of the Moscow city.
