Obverse
in the centre there is a relief image of the National Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation and over it a semicircular inscription along the rim: "РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ" (RUSSIAN FEDERATION) framed by doubled rhombuses on both sides, under the emblem, in three lines, there is an inscription: "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA), the coin’s par value "25 РУБЛЕЙ" (25 RUBLES), and the year of issue "2019 г." (2019), and on the right there is a mint trade mark.
Reverse
a relief image of the Pe-2 dive bomber and the inscription ‘ПЕ-2’ (PE-2) underneath on the right; along the rim there are the inscriptions ‘ОРУЖИЕ ВЕЛИКОЙ ПОБЕДЫ’ (WEAPONS OF THE GREAT VICTORY) at the top and ‘В.М. ПЕТЛЯКОВ’ (VLADIMIR PETLYAKOV) at the bottom.

Vladimir Mikhailovich Petlyakov (1891-1942) was a Soviet aeronautical engineer. He led the design of the Pe-2 dive bomber accepted into service by the Red Army in early 1941.
The Pe-2 was created within a short period of time as a successor to the VI-100 fighter by a team of imprisoned designers and engineers led by Petlyakov. They worked at the NKVD Central Design Office-29. Petlyakov and his team were released for their excellent performance and compliance with the deadline.
The Pe-2 was used in targeted bombings of roads, bridges, railway stations, seaports, airfields, ammunition depots, enemy positions, motor and armoured convoys. It could also serve as a fighter and a reconnaissance aircraft. Along with high bombing accuracy and stable diving, its distinctive features included its speed, manoeuvrability and capability to produce defensive fire, which made it a dangerous opponent to enemy fighters.
The Pe-2 aircraft was used at all fronts of the Great Patriotic War and became the most mass-produced bomber in the history of the Soviet armed forces.
