Alexander Zhdanov

Born on 21 September 1977 in Saint Petersburg.

Education

In 1999, he graduated with honours from the Department of Law of the Lomonosov Moscow State University.

Career

1997–1999: Legal Intern at the Moscow representative office of Linklaters and Paines Services.

2000–2003: Lead Legal Adviser, Chief Legal Adviser, and Economic Adviser at the Bank of Russia’s Legal Department.

2003: Invited Expert at the Secretariat of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, the Bank for International Settlements, Basel.

2003–2011: Section Head, Division Deputy Head, and then Deputy Director — Division Head at the Bank of Russia’s Legal Department.

2011–2012: Deputy Director of the Banking Regulation and Supervision Department of the Bank of Russia.

2012–2017: Deputy Director of the Banking Regulation Department of the Bank of Russia.

Since June 2017: Director of the Bank of Russia’s Financial Resolution Department.
