Obverse

in the centre – the indication of denomination: "5 РУБЛЕЙ" (5 RUBLES), lower – the inscription: "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA), under it – the year of issue: "2015", , to the right at the rim – the mint trade mark, to the left and to the right – fragments of vegetable ornament.

Reverse

in the centre – the image of a globe standing on a book, surrounded by a scroll, a telescope and olive branches, under them – the inscription: "ОСНОВАНО в 1845 г." (FOUNDED in 1845), the inscription along the rim: "РУССКОЕ ГЕОГРАФИЧЕСКОЕ ОБЩЕСТВО" (RUSSIAN GEOGRAPHICAL SOCIETY) divided below by a dot.
