Obverse
in the centre – the emblem of the Bank of Russia [the two-headed eagle with wings down, under it – the semicircular inscription "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA)] framed by a circle of dots and inscriptions along the rim – on top: "ОДНА ТЫСЯЧА РУБЛЕЙ" (ONE THOUSAND RUBLES), below: to the left – indications of the precious metal and its fineness, in the centre – the year of issue "2014 г." (2014), to the right – the fine metal content and the mint trade mark.
Reverse
on the lower part of the disc – a scene of applying an judo hold by a policeman, to the left – the inscription "ДЗЮУ ДО" (JUU-DO) stylized for Japanese hieroglyphs, to the left above – the portrait of the founder of the national judo school V.S. Oschepkov, to its right – a flowering branch of the Japanese cherry tree and hieroglyphs meaning "JUDO", on the right part of the disc – a fragment of the newspaper "Physical Training and Sports".
