Obverse

in the centre - the emblem of the Bank of Russia [the two-headed eagle with wings down, under it - the semicircular inscription "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA)] framed by a circle of dots and inscriptions along the rim - on top: "ТРИ РУБЛЯ" (THREE RUBLES), below: to the left - indications of the precious metal and its fineness, in the centre - the year of issue "2011 г." (2011), to the right - the fine metal content and the mint trade mark.

Reverse

on the matted disc of the coin - the relief image of a desert, in the background to the left - ruins of buildings, in the foreground to the right - the figure of a walking camel with a rider, drawn by counter lines and mirror sections of the coin field, the head and the fore-part of the body of another camel, through the figure of the first camel there is visible the building of a mosque depicted in the background; on the left part of the disc below - inscription in three lines stylized to the cursive one: "ВЕЛИКИЙ ШЕЛКОВЫЙ ПУТЬ" (THE GREAT SILK WAY), to the left above at the rim - the emblem of the Eurasian Economic Community.
