200th Anniversary of the Birth of F. I. Tyutchev
Obverse
in the centre - the Emblem of the Bank of Russia [the two-headed eagle with wings down, lower - the semicircular inscription - "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA)] framed by a circle of dots and inscriptions along the rim: at the top - "ДВА РУБЛЯ" (TWO RUBLES), at the bottom - the year of issue "2003", the letters to the left indicate the metal sign and the fineness, to the right - the fine metal content and the mint trade mark.
Reverse
a portrait of F. I. Tyutchev, lower - a scroll with the facsimile signature of the poet "Ф. ТЮТЧЕВ" (F. TYUTCHEV) and the dates in two lines "1803 - 1873", a candlestick with the lighting candle, to the right against the background of trees - a woman's bust on a pedestal.

Feodor Ivanovich Tyutchev (b. 23.11. /05.12.1803 - d. 15/27.07. 1873) - Russian moving lyric poet and thinker, Corresponding Member of the Petersburg Academy of Sciences (1857). Russian composers have set many poems of Tyutchev to music.
