the two-headed eagle designed by artist I. Bilibin. The inscriptions along the rim: at the top — «ДВА РУБЛЯ 1997 г.» (TWO RUBLES 1997), at the bottom — «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA). The letters below indicate the metal sign, the fineness, the fine metal content and the mint trademark.

the portrait of A.N. Skryabin against a вackground of the lyre from the score cover of the symphonic poem «Prometheus» and a music extract from it. The inscription at the bottom along the rim: «1872. А.Н. СКРЯБИН. 1915» (1872. A.N. SKRYABIN. 1915).

Alexander Nikolaevich Skryabin (1872-1915) – Russian composer and pianist, professor of the Moscow Conservatory (1898-1903) – composed 10 sonatas, poems, preludes, and etudes for the piano. His works «Prometheus», «The Divine Poem» (The Third Symphony), and «The Poem of Ecstasy» are especially popular. In 1922 the Skryabin museum was founded in Moscow.
