Bank of Russia continues to develop data governance functions and digitalise its business processes

Beginning on 15 January 2024, the Bank of Russia will consolidate the functions of data governance and enhancement of its business processes within one department. This decision has been made by the Bank of Russia Board of Directors.

From 15 January 2024, data governance issues and project and process management functions will be within the remit of the Data, Projects and Processes Department. This decision will help more efficiently integrate advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence, into the Bank of Russia’s business processes.

The Non-bank Lending Department will be vested with the authority to regulate and supervise the credit information system. The consolidation of the functions will promote the development of the market.

The Data Governance Department and the Projects and Processes Department will terminate the functioning from 27 April 2024.

Data Governance Department Director Alexey Lukovnikov has decided to continue his career outside the Bank of Russia and will leave his post on 29 December 2023.
