Bank of Russia new commemorative coins: Historical Events series

On 3 June 2024, the Bank of Russia issues the following silver commemorative coins:

— in the denomination of 3 rubles ‘The 100th Anniversary of the Foundation of the Republic of North Ossetia — Alania’ of the Historical Events series; and

— in the denomination of 3 rubles ‘The 100th Anniversary of the Foundation of the Republic of Ingushetia’ of the Historical Events series.

The 3-ruble silver coins (fine metal content 31.1 g, fineness 925/1,000) have a round shape and are 39.0 mm in diameter.

The obverse and the reverse of the coins have a relief rim around the circumference.

The obverse of the coins features a relief image of the National Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation and the inscriptions ‘РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ’ (RUSSIAN FEDERATION), ‘БАНК РОССИИ’ (BANK OF RUSSIA), the denomination of the coins ‘3 РУБЛЯ’ (3 RUBLES), the year of issue ‘2024 г.’ (2024), the chemical symbol of the metal according to Mendeleev’s Periodic Table of Elements, fineness, the Saint Petersburg Mint trademark, and fine metal content.

The reverse of:

— the coin ‘The 100th Anniversary of the Foundation of the Republic of North Ossetia — Alania’ (Catalogue No. 5111-0504) features a relief image of the coat of arms of the Republic of North Ossetia — Alania surrounded by stylised images of couples performing the Simd circle dance and relief inscriptions around the circumference: REPUBLIC OF NORTH OSSETIA — ALANIA’ at the top and ‘100 YEARS’ at the bottom.

The edge of the coin is corrugated.

The coin is minted in proof quality.

The mintage of the coin is 3.0 thousand pcs; and

— the coin ‘The 100th Anniversary of the Foundation of the Republic of Ingushetia’ (Catalogue No. 5111-0505) features a coloured image of the flag and a relief image of the coat of arms of the Republic of Ingushetia against the background of the images of important cultural and historical facilities, laser treated for matte finishing, and relief inscriptions ‘REPUBLIC OF INGUSHETIA’ at the top around the circumference and ‘100 YEARS’ in two lines at the bottom.

The edge of the coin is corrugated.

The coin is minted in proof quality.

The mintage of the coin is 3.0 thousand pcs.

The new coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation and are mandatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value.
