On issuing of coins of precious and base metals
On September 29, 2014 the Central Bank of the Russian Federation issues commemorative coins of:
Precious metals: A silver proof coin in denomination of 25 Roubles - «Historical Museum, Moscow» (catalogue number 5115-0103) of the series «Architectural Monuments of Russia»;
Base metals: In denomination of 5 Roubles – «The Battle of Kursk», «The Battle of the Dnieper» and «The Dnieper-Carpathian Campaign» of the series «The 70th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945».
Description of the coin of precious metals:
A silver proof coin in denomination of 25 Roubles (fine metal content 155,5 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 60,0 mm, mintage 1500 pcs), has the rim raised on both sides of the coin along the circumference. The edge of the coin is corrugated.
The obverse: a relief image of the Emblem of the Bank of Russia - a two-headed eagle with wings down, and a semicircular inscription under it «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA), framed with a circle of beads. Inscriptions along the rim divided by dots indicate the denomination of the coin «ДВАДЦАТЬ ПЯТЬ РУБЛЕЙ» (TWENTY FIVE ROUBLES) and the year of issue «2014», between them there is an indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trade mark of the Moscow mint and fine precious metal content.
The reverse side of the coin bears a relief image of the Historical museum building in Moscow against the background of the Moscow Kremlin contours. There are inscriptions – «ИСТОРИЧЕСКИЙ МУЗЕЙ» (HISTORICAL MUSEUM) along the circumference on top and «МОСКВА» (MOSCOW) at the bottom.
Description of the coins of base metals:
Coins in denomination of 5 Roubles are 25.0 mm in diameter, white in colour and have the rim raised on both sides of the coins along the circumference. The edge of the coins is corrugated.
The obverse: in the center of the disc there is an indication of the face value of the coins «5 РУБЛЕЙ» (5 ROUBLES) in two lines. There is an inscription below - «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA) and the year of issue «2014» under it. On the left and on the right there is a stylized image of a plant branch. In the right part of the disc there is a trademark of a mint.
The reverse side:
— of the first coin has a relief image of the sculpture composition «Tank Battle of Prokhorovka. Ram». There are inscriptions along the circumference - «КУРСКАЯ БИТВА» (THE BATTLE OF KURSK) and «ВЕЛИКАЯ ОТЕЧЕСТВЕННАЯ ВОЙНА 1941-1945 ГГ.» (THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR OF 1941-1945) divided by two stars;
— of the second coin has a relief image of a part of the memorial in the National museum of history of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 in Kiev. There are inscriptions along the circumference - «БИТВА ЗА ДНЕПР» (THE BATTLE OF THE DNIEPER) and «ВЕЛИКАЯ ОТЕЧЕСТВЕННАЯ ВОЙНА 1941-1945 ГГ.» (THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR OF 1941-1945) divided by two stars;
— of the third coin has a relief image of a part of the «Victory» monument in Kryvyi Rih. There are inscriptions along the circumference - «ДНЕПРОВСКО-КАРПАТСКАЯ ОПЕРАЦИЯ» (THE DNIEPER-CARPATHIAN CAMPAIGN) and «ВЕЛИКАЯ ОТЕЧЕСТВЕННАЯ ВОЙНА 1941-1945 ГГ.» (THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR OF 1941-1945) divided by two stars.
The mintage of the coins is 2000000 pcs of each design.
