Оn Publication of New Statistical Data

For the purpose of improving the supply of information to its’ users, the Bank of Russia initiates publication of data time series on changes in banks’ and other sectors’ assets in foreign currencies held in cash.

Data are presented in the international investment position format, which ensures integration of the data on aggregate accumulated balances and changes in foreign currencies’ holdings in cash of the Russian Federation’s resident banks and other sectors including nonfinancial organizations, households and nonprofit institutions serving households.

Quarterly periodicity of data compilation enables at short time intervals to analyze changes in banks’ and other sectors’ assets in foreign currencies held in cash resulting from transactions with nonresidents reflected in the balance of payments, as well as resulting from exchange rate revaluation and other changes characterizing intersectoral flows in the domestic economy.

Statistical data are posted on the official website of the Bank of Russia within Statistics/Macroeconomic Statistics section in External Sector Statistics subsection under International Investment Position directory.
