On issuing of commemorative coins of precious metals
On July 1, 2014 the Central Bank of the Russian Federation issues commemorative coins of precious metals:
- Silver proof coins of the series «Architectural Monuments of Russia» — «The House-Museum of I.S. Turgenev in the Village of Spasskoye-Lutovinovo, Orel Region» (catalogue number
5111-0280), «Saint George Church in the Village of Dzivgis, Republic of North Ossetia-Alania» (catalogue number5111-0281) in denomination of 3 Roubles and «The Old-Golutvin Monastery in the Town of Kolomna, Moscow Region» (catalogue number5115-0097) in denomination of 25 Roubles; - A gold proof coin in denomination of 1000 Roubles — «Tercentenary of the Victory of Russian Navy in the Battle of Gangut» (catalogue number
5220-0016).
Description of the coins of precious metals:
A silver proof coin «The House-Museum of I.S. Turgenev» in denomination of 3 Roubles (fine metal content 31.1 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 39.0 mm, mintage 5000 pcs), has the rim raised on both sides of the coin along the circumference. The edge of the coin is corrugated.
The obverse: a relief image of the Emblem of the Bank of Russia — a two-headed eagle with wings down, and a semicircular inscription under it «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA), framed with a circle of beads. Inscriptions along the rim divided by dots indicate the denomination of the coin «ТРИ РУБЛЯ» (THREE ROUBLES) and the year of issue «2014», between them there is an indication of the metal according to D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trade mark of the Moscow mint and fine precious metal content.

The reverse side of the coin bears relief images of the house-museum of I.S. Turgenev in Spasskoye-Lutovinovo with a shot gun, a bandolier and a game-bag below. There is an inscription in four lines in the centre of the disc — «ДОМ-МУЗЕЙ И.С. ТУРГЕНЕВА СПАССКОЕ-ЛУТОВИНОВО» (THE HOUSE-MUSEUM OF I.S. TURGENEV SPASSKOYE-LUTOVINOVO).

A silver proof coin «Saint George Church» in denomination of 3 Roubles (fine metal content 31.1 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 39.0 mm, mintage 5000 pcs), has the rim raised on both sides of the coin along the circumference. The edge of the coin is corrugated.

A silver proof coin «The Old-Golutvin Monastery» in denomination of 25 Roubles (fine metal content 155.5 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 60.0 mm, mintage 1500 pcs), has the rim raised on both sides of the coin along the circumference. The edge of the coin is corrugated.
The obverse: a relief image of the Emblem of the Bank of Russia — a two-headed eagle with wings down, and a semicircular inscription under it «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA), framed with a circle of beads. Inscriptions along the rim divided by dots indicate the denomination of the coin «ДВАДЦАТЬ ПЯТЬ РУБЛЕЙ» (TWENTY FIVE ROUBLES) and the year of issue «2014», between them there is an indication of the metal according to D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trade mark of the Moscow mint and fine precious metal content.

The reverse side of the coin bears relief images of the Old-Golutvin monastery in the town of Kolomna, Moscow Region and a weathercock in the form of an angel blowing the trumpet at the bottom on the right. There are inscriptions — «БОГОЯВЛЕНСКИЙ СТАРО-ГОЛУТВИН МОНАСТЫРЬ» (THE OLD-GOLUTVIN EPIPHANY MONASTERY) along the circumference on top and «МОСКОВСКАЯ ОБЛАСТЬ» (MOSCOW REGION) in two lines on a mat stripe at the bottom.

A gold proof coin «Tercentenary of the Victory of Russian Navy in the Battle of Gangut» in denomination of 1000 Roubles (fine metal content 155.5 g, fineness 999/1000, diameter 50.0 mm, mintage 250 pcs), has the rim raised on both sides of the coin along the circumference. The edge of the coin is corrugated.
The obverse: a relief image of the Emblem of the Bank of Russia — a two-headed eagle with wings down, and a semicircular inscription under it «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA), framed with a circle of beads. Inscriptions along the rim divided by dots indicate the denomination of the coin «ОДНА ТЫСЯЧА РУБЛЕЙ» (ONE THOUSAND ROUBLES) and the year of issue «2014», between them there is an indication of the metal according to D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trade mark of the Moscow mint and fine precious metal content.

The reverse side of the coin depicts relief images of three sailing ships and an oar boat in one of the episodes of the Battle of Gangut. There are inscriptions along the circumference — «ГАНГУТ•1714» (GANGUT•1714) on top and «ПОБЕДА РУССКОГО ФЛОТА» (THE VICTORY OF RUSSIAN NAVY) at the bottom.

The coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation. They are obligatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value.
