On issuing of commemorative coins of precious metals

On June 22, 2015 the Central Bank of the Russian Federation issues commemorative coins of precious metals:

• Silver proof coins in denomination of 3 Roubles of the series „Meeting of the Council of Heads of the Shanghai Соoperation Organisation Member States in Ufa” (catalogue number 5111-0294) and „Meeting of Heads of BRICS States and Governments in Ufa” (catalogue number 5111-0295).

Description of the coins of precious metals:

Silver proof coins in denomination of 3 Roubles (fine metal content 31.1 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 39.0 mm, mintage 1500 pcs of each design), have the rim raised on both sides of the coins along the circumference. The edge of the coins is corrugated.

The obverse: a relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation and a semicircular inscription over it „РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ” (RUSSIAN FEDERATION). Inscriptions below indicate the denomination of the coins „3 РУБЛЯ” (3 ROUBLES) and the year of issue „2015”, there is an indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trade mark of the Saint Petersburg mint and fine precious metal content.

The reverse side:

• of a silver proof coin „Meeting of the Council of Heads of the Shanghai Соoperation Organisation Member States in Ufa” bears a relief image of an official SCO emblem on top, images of the national flags of the SCO members performed in colour in the center, a stylized image of a seven petal kurai flower inflorescence which is an element of the coat of arms and the national flag of the Republic of Bashkortostan at the bottom. There are inscriptions — „ЗАСЕДАНИЕ СОВЕТА ГЛАВ ГОСУДАРСТВ — ЧЛЕНОВ ШАНХАЙСКОЙ ОРГАНИЗАЦИИ СОТРУДНИЧЕСТВА” (MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF HEADS OF THE SHANGHAI СОOPERATION ORGANISATION MEMBER STATES) along the circumference and „РОССИЯ УФА 2015” (RUSSIA UFA 2015) under the flags;

• of a silver proof coin „Meeting of Heads of BRICS States and Governments in Ufa” depicts a stylized image of a seven petal kurai flower inflorescence which is an element of the coat of arms and the national flag of the Republic of Bashkortostan on top, an official logotype of the Russian Federation presidency in the BRICS interstate association and meeting of heads of BRICS states and governments in Ufa performed in colour in the center. There are inscriptions — „ВСТРЕЧА ГЛАВ ГОСУДАРСТВ И ПРАВИТЕЛЬСТВ БРИКС” (MEETING OF HEADS OF BRICS STATES AND GOVERNMENTS) along the circumference and „УФА 2015” (UFA 2015) at the bottom.

The coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation. They are obligatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value.
