On issuing of commemorative coin of precious metals

On November 21, 2017 the Central Bank of the Russian Federation issues commemorative coins of precious metal:

  • A silver proof coin in denomination of 1 Rouble — „Federal Treasury” (catalogue number 5109-0117);
  • A silver proof coin in denomination of 2 Roubles — „Film Director Yu.P. Lyubimov, the 100th Anniversary of the Birth (30.09.1917)” (catalogue number 5110-0151) of the series „Outstanding Personalities of Russia”.

Description of the coins of precious metal:

A silver proof coin in denomination of 1 Rouble (fine metal content 7.78 g, fineness 925/1000,diameter 25.0 mm, mintage 3000 pcs) has the rim raised on both sides of the coin along the circumference. The edge of the coin is corrugated.

The obverse side of the coin bears a relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation. There are inscriptions: „РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ” (RUSSIAN FEDERATION), „БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA), the denomination of the coin — „1 РУБЛЬ” (1 ROUBLE) and the year — „2017”, an indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trade mark of the Moscow mint and fine precious metal content.

The reverse side of the coin depicts a relief image of the Federal Treasury’s symbol. There is an inscription „КАЗНАЧЕЙСТВО РОССИИ” (FEDERAL TREASURY) along the circumference on the bottom.

A silver proof coin in denomination of 2 Roubles (fine metal content15.55 g, fineness 925/1000,diameter 33.0 mm, mintage 3000 pcs) has the rim raised on both sides of the coin along the circumference. The edge of the coin is corrugated.

The obverse side of the coin bears a relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation. There are inscriptions: „РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ” (RUSSIAN FEDERATION), „БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA), the denomination of the coin — „2 РУБЛЯ” (2 ROUBLES) and the year — „2017”, an indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trade mark of the Moscow mint and fine precious metal content.

The reverse side of the coin depicts a relief image of Yu.P. Lyubimov against a curtain and masks. There is an inscription „Ю.П.Любимов” (Yu.P. Lyubimov) along the circumference on top and the dates „1917”, „2014” in two lines at the bottom.

The coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation. They are obligatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value.
