On issuing of coins of precious and base metals

On December 18, 2015 the Central Bank of the Russian Federation issues commemorative coins of:

Precious metals:

  • A silver proof coin in denomination of 1 Rouble (catalogue number 5109-0114) „EMERCOM of Russia”;
  • A silver proof coin in denomination of 3 Roubles (catalogue number 5111-0311) „International Children’s Centre ‚Artek’;

Base metals:

  • In denomination of 5 Roubles — ‚Defence of Sevastopol’, ‚Defence of the Adzhimushkay Quarry’, ‚Kerch-Eltigen Landing Operation’, ‚Crimean Strategic Offensive Operation’, ‚Partisans and Members of Underground Organizations of the Crimea’ dedicated to the feat of the soviet warriors who fought on the Crimean peninsula during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945”;
  • In denomination of 10 Roubles — „Taganrog”, „Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky”, „Maloyaroslavets”, „Mozhaysk” of the series „Towns of Martial Glory”.

Description of the coins of precious metals:

A silver proof coin in denomination of 1 Rouble (fine metal content 7.78 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 25.0 mm, mintage 5000 pcs) has the rim raised on both sides of the coin along the circumference. The edge of the coin is corrugated.

The obverse side of the coin has a relief image of the emblem of the Bank of Russia — a two-headed eagle with wings down and a semicircular inscription under it „БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA), framed with a circle of beads. Inscriptions along the rim divided by dots indicate the denomination of the coin „ОДИН РУБЛЬ” (ONE ROUBLE) and the year — „2015”, between them there is an indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trade mark of the Moscow mint and fine precious metal content.

The reverse side of the coin bears a relief image of a large emblem of the EMERCOM of Russia. There is an inscription along the circumference at the bottom: „МЧС РОССИИ” (EMERCOM OF RUSSIA).

A silver proof coin in denomination of 3 Roubles (fine metal content 31.1 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 39.0 mm, mintage 1000 pcs) has the rim raised on both sides of the coin along the circumference. The edge of the coin is corrugated.

The obverse side of the coin has a relief image of the emblem of the Bank of Russia — a two-headed eagle with wings down and a semicircular inscription under it „БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA), framed with a circle of beads. Inscriptions along the rim divided by dots indicate the denomination of the coin „ТРИ РУБЛЯ” (THREE ROUBLES) and the year — „2015”, between them there is an indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trade mark of the Moscow mint and fine precious metal content.

The reverse side of the coin depicts a relief image of a panoramic view of „Artek” against a background of Mount Ayu-Dag and a logotype of the International children’s centre „Artek” performed in colour. There is an inscription along the circumference on the right: „МЕЖДУНАРОДНЫЙ ДЕТСКИЙ ЦЕНТР” (INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN’S CENTRE).

Description of the coins of base metals:

Coins in denomination of 5 Roubles are 25.0 mm in diameter, white in colour and have the rim raised on both sides of the coins along the circumference. The edge of the coins is corrugated.

The obverse side of the coins has an indication of the face value of the coins „5 РУБЛЕЙ” (5 ROUBLES) in two lines in the center of the disc. There is an inscription below — „БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA) and the year of issue „2015” under it. On the left and on the right there is a stylized image of a plant branch. In the right part of the disc there is a trademark of a mint.

The reverse side:

  • of the first coin has a relief image of the memorial „A sailor and a soldier”. There are inscriptions along the circumference: „ОБОРОНА СЕВАСТОПОЛЯ” (DEFENCE OF SEVASTOPOL) and „ВЕЛИКАЯ ОТЕЧЕСТВЕННАЯ ВОЙНА 1941-1945 ГГ.” (THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR OF 1941-1945) divided by two stars;
  • of the second coin has a relief image of a part of the Adzhimushkay quarry memorial complex. There are inscriptions along the circumference: „ОБОРОНА АДЖИМУШКАЙСКИХ КАМЕНОЛОМЕН” (DEFENCE OF THE ADZHIMUSHKAY QUARRY) and „ВЕЛИКАЯ ОТЕЧЕСТВЕННАЯ ВОЙНА 1941-1945 ГГ.” (THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR OF 1941-1945) divided by two stars;
  • of the third coin has a relief image of the memorial „Sail”. There are inscriptions along the circumference: „КЕРЧЕНСКО-ЭЛЬТИГЕНСКАЯ ДЕСАНТНАЯ ОПЕРАЦИЯ” (KERCH-ELTIGEN LANDING OPERATION) and „ВЕЛИКАЯ ОТЕЧЕСТВЕННАЯ ВОЙНА 1941-1945 ГГ.” (THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR OF 1941-1945) divided by two stars;
  • of the fourth coin has a relief image of a part of the diorama „Assault of Mount Sapun on the 7th of May, 1944”. There are inscriptions along the circumference: „КРЫМСКАЯ СТРАТЕГИЧЕСКАЯ НАСТУПАТЕЛЬНАЯ ОПЕРАЦИЯ” (CRIMEAN STRATEGIC OFFENSIVE OPERATION) and „ВЕЛИКАЯ ОТЕЧЕСТВЕННАЯ ВОЙНА 1941-1945 ГГ.” (THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR OF 1941-1945) divided by two stars;
  • of the fifth coin has a relief image of the Monument to partisans and members of underground organizations of the Crimea in Simferopol. There are inscriptions along the circumference: „ПАРТИЗАНЫ И ПОДПОЛЬЩИКИ КРЫМА” (PARTISANS AND MEMBERS OF UNDERGROUND ORGANIZATIONS OF THE CRIMEA) and „ВЕЛИКАЯ ОТЕЧЕСТВЕННАЯ ВОЙНА 1941-1945 ГГ.” (THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR OF 1941-1945) divided by two stars.

The mintage of the coins is 2000000 pcs of each design.

Coins in denomination of 10 Roubles are 22.0 mm in diameter, yellow in colour and have the rim raised on both sides of the coins along the circumference. The edge of the coins is corrugated, each section contains different number of corrugations alternating with smooth sections.

The obverse side of the coins has inscriptions along the circumference: „БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA) on top, „2015” at the bottom. On the left and on the right there are stylized images of laurel and oak branches respectively. In the center of the disc there is an indication of the face value of the coins „10 РУБЛЕЙ” (10 ROUBLES) in two lines. Inside the figure „0” there is a protective element in the form of the figure „10” and an inscription „РУБ” (RUB) visible when changing angles of vision. In the lower part of the disc there is a trademark of a mint.

The reverse side:

  • of the first coin has a relief image of an emblem of Taganrog. There are inscriptions along the circumference: „ГОРОДА ВОИНСКОЙ СЛАВЫ” (TOWNS OF MARTIAL GLORY) on top and „ТАГАНРОГ” (TAGANROG) at the bottom;
  • of the second coin has a relief image of an emblem of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. There are inscriptions along the circumference: „ГОРОДА ВОИНСКОЙ СЛАВЫ” (TOWNS OF MARTIAL GLORY) on top and „ПЕТРОПАВЛОВСК-КАМЧАТСКИЙ” (PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY) at the bottom;
  • of the third coin has a relief image of an emblem of Maloyaroslavets. There are inscriptions along the circumference: „ГОРОДА ВОИНСКОЙ СЛАВЫ” (TOWNS OF MARTIAL GLORY) on top and „МАЛОЯРОСЛАВЕЦ” (MALOYAROSLAVETS) at the bottom;
  • of the fourth coin has a relief image of an emblem of Mozhaysk. There are inscriptions along the circumference: „ГОРОДА ВОИНСКОЙ СЛАВЫ” (TOWNS OF MARTIAL GLORY) on top and „МОЖАЙСК” (MOZHAYSK) at the bottom.

The mintage of the coins is 10000000 pcs of each design.

The coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation. They are obligatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value.
