On issuing of commemorative coins of precious and base metals
On June 17, 2014 the Central Bank of the Russian Federation issues commemorative coins of:
Precious metals:
- Silver proof coins in denomination of 50 Roubles (catalogue number 5116-0001) and 100 Roubles (catalogue number 5117-0058) - "Russian Sportsmen - Champions and Prize Winners of the XXX Olympic Games in London 2012";
- A silver proof coin (catalogue number 5111-0278) and a silver UNC coin (catalogue number 5111-0279) in denomination of 3 Roubles - "Symbol of the Rouble";
Base metals:
- In denomination of 10 Roubles (catalogue number 5514-0086) - "Russian Sportsmen - Champions and Prize Winners of the XXX Olympic Games in London 2012";
- In denomination of 1 Rouble - "Symbol of the Rouble".
Description of the coins of precious metals:
Silver proof coins in denomination of 50 Roubles and 100 Roubles (fine metal content 311.0 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 75.0 mm, mintage 500 pcs of each design), have the rim raised on both sides of the coin along the circumference. The edge of the coin is corrugated.
The obverse: a relief image of the Emblem of the Bank of Russia - a two-headed eagle with wings down, and a semicircular inscription under it "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA), framed with a circle of beads. Inscriptions along the rim divided by dots indicate the denomination of the coins "ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ РУБЛЕЙ" (FIFTY ROUBLES), "СТО РУБЛЕЙ" (ONE HUNDRED ROUBLES) respectively and the year of issue "2014", between them there is an indication of the metal according to D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trade mark of the Moscow mint and fine precious metal content. There are also surnames of the sportsmen - champions and prize winners of the XXX Olympic Games in London 2012 inflicted on a spiral in the alphabetical order.


The reverse side:
- of the silver proof coin in denomination of 50 Roubles bears relief images of an olive twig, Russian Olympic Committee emblem and three athletes against a stylized ornament background. There is an inscription in five lines - "РОССИЙСКИЕ СПОРТСМЕНЫ - СЕРЕБРЯНЫЕ ПРИЗЕРЫ ЛОНДОН-2012" (RUSSIAN SPORTSMEN - SILVER PRIZE WINNERS LONDON-2012) and a QR-code which when scanning it opens a webpage on an official website of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation devoted to Russian sportsmen - champions and prize winners of the XXX Olympic Games in London 2012;

- of the silver proof coin in denomination of 100 Roubles with gilding depicts relief images of an olive twig, Russian Olympic Committee emblem and three athletes against a stylized ornament background. There is an inscription in five lines - "РОССИЙСКИЕ СПОРТСМЕНЫ - ОЛИМПИЙСКИЕ ЧЕМПИОНЫ ЛОНДОН-2012" (RUSSIAN SPORTSMEN - OLYMPIC CHAMPIONS LONDON-2012) and a QR-code which when scanning it opens a webpage on an official website of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation devoted to Russian sportsmen - champions and prize winners of the XXX Olympic Games in London 2012.

The obverse: a relief image of the Emblem of the Bank of Russia - a two-headed eagle with wings down, and a semicircular inscription under it "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA), framed with a circle of beads. Inscriptions along the rim divided by dots indicate the denomination of the coins "ТРИ РУБЛЯ" (THREE ROUBLES) and the year of issue "2014", between them there is an indication of the metal according to D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trade mark of the Moscow mint and fine precious metal content.


The reverse side of the coins bears a relief image of the symbol of the Rouble.

There is an inscription in five lines - "РОССИЙСКИЕ СПОРТСМЕНЫ - БРОНЗОВЫЕ ПРИЗЕРЫ ЛОНДОН-2012" (RUSSIAN SPORTSMEN - BRONZE PRIZE WINNERS LONDON-2012) and a QR-code which when scanning it opens a webpage on an official website of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation devoted to Russian sportsmen - champions and prize winners of the XXX Olympic Games in London 2012.

The mintage of the coin is 500 pcs.
A coin "Symbol of the Rouble" is 20.5 mm in diameter has the rim raised on both sides of the coin along the circumference. The edge of the coin is corrugated.
The obverse: a relief image of the Emblem of the Bank of Russia - a two-headed eagle with wings down, and a semicircular inscription under it "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA). There are inscriptions: a mint trademark, the denomination of the coin "ОДИН РУБЛЬ" (ONE ROUBLE) along the circumference on top and the year of issue "2014" at the bottom under a line divided by a dot in the middle.

The reverse side of the coin bears a relief image of the symbol of the Rouble. There is also an inscription "РУБЛЬ" (ROUBLE) and stylized plant ornament in the form of a bent twig with intertwined stems.

The mintage of the coin is 100000000 pcs.
