On activity of Legion JSCB
During the inspection of banknotes, coins and other valuables, the Bank of Russia’s working group inspecting Legion JSCB, revealed that cash desks of the credit institution’s internal structural divisions lacked cash funds for the total amount of about 0.36 billion rubles (in ruble terms) and valuables under custody in the total amount of 0.37 billion rubles.
Furthermore, the provisional administration of Legion JSCB appointed by Bank of Russia Order No. OD-1892, dated 7 July 2017, due to the revocation of the bank’s banking licence, revealed that borrowers’ credit files with original loan and collateral agreements were stolen from the bank’s premises in the run-up to the licence revocation.
The Bank of Russia submitted the information on the operations performed by the former management and owners of Legion JSCB which bear the evidence of the criminal offence to the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation and Russian Investigative Committee for consideration and procedural decision making.
