On issuing of commemorative coins of precious metals

On August 15, 2018 the Central Bank of the Russian Federation issues commemorative coins of precious metal:

  • Silver proof coin in denomination of 1 Rouble „Rosreestr” (catalogue number 5109-0123, mintage 3,000 pcs).
  • Silver proof coin in denomination of 2 Roubles „Poet and actor V.S. Vysotsky” of the series „Outstanding Personalities of Russia” (catalogue number 5110-0155, mintage 3,000 pcs).
  • Silver proof coin in denomination of 3 Roubles of the series „Guarding the Homeland” (catalogue number 5111-0388, mintage 3,000 pcs).
  • Silver proof coin in denomination of 3 Roubles „350th Anniversary of Russian State Shipbuilding” (catalogue number 5111-0389, mintage 3,000 pcs).

Description of the coins of precious metal:

Silver proof coins in denominations of 1 Rouble (fine metal content 7.78 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 25.0 mm), 2 Roubles (fine metal content 15.55 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 33.0 mm) and 3 Roubles (fine metal content 31.1 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 39.0 mm) have the rim raised on both sides of the coins along the circumference. The edge of the coins is corrugated.

The obverse side of the coins bears a relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation. There are inscriptions: „РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ” (RUSSIAN FEDERATION) and „БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA), the denominations of the coins „1 РУБЛЬ” (1 ROUBLE) „2 РУБЛЯ” (2 ROUBLES), „3 РУБЛЯ” (3 ROUBLES) and the year „2018”, an indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trade mark of the Saint Petersburg mint and fine precious metal content.

The reverse side:

  • of the coin „Rosreestr” depicts a relief image of the emblem of the Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography. The inscription at the bottom along the circumference reads: „РОСРЕЕСТР” (ROSREESTR).
  • of the coin „Poet and actor V.S. Vysotsky” depicts a relief portrait of Vladimir Vysotsky holding a guitar, a relief image of a sword on the left and laser matted silhouettes of two horses in the background. The inscription above along the circumference reads: „ВЛАДИМИР ВЫСОЦКИЙ” (VLADIMIR VYSOTSKY).
  • of the coin of the series „Guarding the Homeland” depicts a relief image of a group of soldiers holding a flag and muskets, their uniform and equipment being from the Patriotic War of 1812 era. In the background there are laser matted clouds of smoke and silhouettes of soldiers and an officer with a cannon at his side. The inscription at the bottom along the circumference reads: „НА СТРАЖЕ ОТЕЧЕСТВА” (GUARDING THE HOMELAND).
  • of the coin „350th Anniversary of Russian State Shipbuilding” depicts a relief image of the frigate Oryol with laser matted silhouettes of modern watercrafts in the background. The inscription at the bottom reads: „350-ЛЕТИЕ ОТЕЧЕСТВЕННОГО ГОСУДАРСТВЕННОГО СУДОСТРОЕНИЯ” (350TH ANNIVERSARY OF RUSSIAN STATE SHIPBUILDING).

The coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation. They are obligatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value.
