On identifying website offering banking services

The Bank of Russia informs on identifying website www.mngb.ru which offers banking services on behalf of Metro Neal Guardian Bank in respect of which the Bank of Russia did not take any decision on its state registration, issuance of the banking licence and accreditation of its representation office in the Russian Federation.

The Bank of Russia has submitted the information on the website bearing the evidence of criminal offences conducted by the individuals involved in its operations to the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation for consideration and procedural decision making.

This being said, the Bank of Russia would like to remind legal entities and private individuals to use for banking Internet services exclusively websites of those credit institutions licensed by the Bank of Russia to perform banking operations with information on them posted on the Bank of Russia official website in the section Information on Credit Institutions, sub-section Guide on Credit Institutions, column Information on Website Addresses of Credit Institutions of the Russian Federation.

Please be also advised that you can check validity of any credit institution’s banking licence using its name or registration number through the search system on the Bank of Russia official website in the section Information on Credit Institutions, sub-section Guide on Credit Institutions (www.cbr.ru/banking_sector/credit/).
