On issuing of commemorative coins of precious metals

On October 12, 2015 the Central Bank of the Russian Federation issues commemorative coins of precious metals:

Silver proof coins in denomination of 3 Roubles (catalogue number 5111-0307), 25 Roubles (catalogue number 5115-0113), a silver proof-like coin in denomination of 100 Roubles (catalogue number 5117-0061) and gold proof coins in denomination of 50 Roubles (catalogue number 5216-0108), 100 Roubles (catalogue number 5217-0044), 200 Roubles (catalogue number 5219-0032), a gold proof-like coin in denomination of 10000 Roubles (catalogue number 5221-0029) of the series „Save Our World” (Elk);
Three silver coins in denomination of 1 Rouble (catalogue numbers 5109-0111, 5109-0112 and 5109-0113) of the series „The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation” (Surface Fleet of the Navy).

Description of the coins of precious metals:

Silver proof coins in denomination of 3 Roubles (fine metal content 31.1 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 39.0 mm, mintage 5000 pcs), 25 Roubles (fine metal content 155.5 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 60.0 mm, mintage 1000 pcs), a silver proof-like coin in denomination of 100 Roubles (fine metal content 1000.0 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 100.0 mm, mintage 250 pcs) and gold proof coins in denomination of 50 Roubles (fine metal content 7.78 g, fineness 999/1000, diameter 22.6 mm, mintage 1000 pcs), 100 Roubles (fine metal content 15.55 g, fineness 999/1000, diameter 30.0 mm, mintage 750 pcs), 200 Roubles (fine metal content 31.1 g, fineness 999/1000, diameter 33.0 mm, mintage 500 pcs), a gold proof-like coin in denomination of 10000 Roubles (fine metal content 1000.0 g, fineness 999/1000, diameter 100.0 mm, mintage 25 pcs) have the rim raised on both sides of the coins along the circumference. The edge of the coins is corrugated.

The obverse: a relief image of the Emblem of the Bank of Russia — a two-headed eagle with wings down, and a semicircular inscription under it „БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA), framed with a circle of beads. Inscriptions along the rim divided by dots indicate the denomination of the coins „ТРИ РУБЛЯ” (THREE ROUBLES), „ДВАДЦАТЬ ПЯТЬ РУБЛЕЙ” (TWENTY FIVE ROUBLES), „ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ РУБЛЕЙ” (FIFTY ROUBLES), „СТО РУБЛЕЙ” (ONE HUNDRED ROUBLES), „ДВЕСТИ РУБЛЕЙ” (TWO HUNDRED ROUBLES), „ДЕСЯТЬ ТЫСЯЧ РУБЛЕЙ” (TEN THOUSAND ROUBLES) respectively and the year of issue „2015”, between them there is an indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trademark of a mint and fine precious metal content.

On the obverse side of the gold proof-like coin in denomination of 10000 Roubles there is an ordinal number of the coin with indication of the sign „№” in the lower part of it next to the fine precious metal content indication.

The reverse side:

of a silver proof coin in denomination of 3 Roubles bears a relief image of a lying elk against a background of the water surface and a forest. There is an inscription along the circumference on top — „СОХРАНИМ НАШ МИР” (SAVE OUR WORLD);

of a silver proof coin in denomination of 25 Roubles depicts relief images of two elks at the moment of a duel against a background of the water surface and a forest. There is an inscription along the circumference at the bottom — „СОХРАНИМ НАШ МИР” (SAVE OUR WORLD);

of a silver proof-like coin in denomination of 100 Roubles bears relief images of two elks against a background of the water surface, a forest, a wolf and birds. There is an inscription along the circumference at the bottom — „СОХРАНИМ НАШ МИР” (SAVE OUR WORLD);

of a gold proof coin in denomination of 50 Roubles depicts a relief image of an elk’s head. There is an inscription along the circumference at the bottom — „СОХРАНИМ НАШ МИР” (SAVE OUR WORLD);

of a gold proof coin in denomination of 100 Roubles bears a relief image of an elk against a background of a forest. There is an inscription along the circumference on top on the right — „СОХРАНИМ НАШ МИР” (SAVE OUR WORLD);

of a gold proof coin in denomination of 200 Roubles depicts a relief image of an elk against a background of the water surface, a forest and a bear. There is an inscription along the circumference at the bottom — „СОХРАНИМ НАШ МИР” (SAVE OUR WORLD);

of a gold proof-like coin in denomination of 10000 Roubles bears relief images of a female elk and two elk-calves against a background of the water surface and a forest. There is an inscription along the circumference at the bottom — „СОХРАНИМ НАШ МИР” (SAVE OUR WORLD).

Silver proof coins in denomination of 1 Rouble (fine metal content 7.78 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 25.0 mm, mintage 5000 pcs of each design) have the rim raised on both sides of the coins along the circumference. The edge of the coins is corrugated.

The reverse side:

of the first coin bears a relief image of a medium-sized emblem of the Russian Federation Navy. There is an inscription along the circumference at the bottom — „НАДВОДНЫЕ СИЛЫ” (SURFACE FLEET);

of the second coin depicts a relief image of the sailing-rowing frigate „Apostle Peter”. There is an inscription along the circumference at the bottom — „НАДВОДНЫЕ СИЛЫ” (SURFACE FLEET);

of the third coin has relief images of the frigate „Admiral Gorshkov of the Soviet Union fleet” and a helicopter. There is an inscription along the circumference at the bottom — „НАДВОДНЫЕ СИЛЫ” (SURFACE FLEET).

The coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation. They are obligatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value.
