On publishing new statistical data

The Bank of Russia continues expanding direct investment statistics published to improve information communications. The new publication complies with the OECD Benchmark Definition of Foreign Direct Investment (4th edition, 2008) and includes aggregate indicators of income from direct investments of the Russian Federation abroad and income from direct investments in the Russian Federation for institutional sectors of the economy broken down by direct investment instrument.

The publication of new data on cash flows received as direct investment income in addition to the Bank of Russia already published data on direct investment operations is aimed to provide a full picture of the investment flow development between the Russian Federation and other countries.

The data on direct investment income for institutional sectors of the Russian Federation economy broken down by direct investment instrument for 2012-2016 are placed on the Bank of Russia website in section Statistics, sub-section External Sector Statistics, under the heading Direct Investment and will be updated quarterly according to the Calendar of Official Statistics Publications.
