On issuing of coins of precious and base metals
On November 10, 2014 the Central Bank of the Russian Federation issues commemorative coins of:
Precious metals:
- Silver proof coins in denomination of 2 Roubles —
«Andrianov N.E.» (catalogue number
5110-0134), «Latynina L.S.» (catalogue number5110-0135) and «Shakhlin B.A.» (catalogue number5110-0136) of the series «The Outstanding Sportsmen of Russia» (Gymnastics);
Base metals:
- In denomination of 10 Roubles — «Kolpino» of the series «Towns of Martial Glory».
Description of the coins of precious metals:
Silver proof coins in denomination of 2 Roubles (fine metal content 15,55 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 33,0 mm, mintage 3000 pcs of each design), have the rim raised on both sides of the coins along the circumference. The edge of the coins is corrugated.
The obverse: a relief image of the Emblem of the Bank of Russia — a two-headed eagle with wings down, and a semicircular inscription under it «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA), framed with a circle of beads. Inscriptions along the rim divided by dots indicate the denomination of the coins «ДВА РУБЛЯ» (TWO ROUBLES) and the year of issue «2014», between them there is an indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trade mark of the Moscow mint and fine precious metal content.
The reverse side:
- of the first coin bears relief images of N.E. Andrianov and a facsimile of the sportsman’s signature. There is an inscription along the circumference — «НИКОЛАЙ АНДРИАНОВ» (NIKOLAY ANDRIANOV);
- of the second coin depicts relief images of L.S. Latynina and a facsimile of the sportswoman’s signature. There is an inscription along the circumference — «ЛАРИСА ЛАТЫНИНА» (LARISA LATYNINA);
- of the third coin has relief images of B.A. Shakhlin and a facsimile of the sportsman’s signature. There is an inscription along the circumference — «БОРИС ШАХЛИН» (BORIS SHAKHLIN).
Description of the coin of base metals:
A coin in denomination of 10 Roubles is 22.0 mm in diameter, yellow in colour and has the rim raised on both sides of the coin along the circumference. The edge of the coin is corrugated, each section contains different number of corrugations alternating with smooth sections.
The obverse: in the upper part of the coin there is an inscription along the circumference: «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA), in the lower part — the year of issue «2014». On the left and on the right there are stylized images of laurel and oak branches respectively. In the center of the disc there is an indication of the face value of the coin «10 РУБЛЕЙ» (10 ROUBLES) in two lines. Inside the figure «0» there is a protective element in the form of the figure «10» and an inscription «РУБ» (RUB) visible when changing angles of vision. In the lower part of the disc there is a trademark of a mint.
The reverse side of the coin has a relief image of Kolpino emblem. There are inscriptions along the circumference — «ГОРОДА ВОИНСКОЙ СЛАВЫ» (TOWNS OF MARTIAL GLORY) on top and «КОЛПИНО» (KOLPINO) at the bottom.
The mintage of the coin is 10000000 pcs.
The coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation. They are obligatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value.
