On issuing of commemorative coins of precious metals
On February 2, 2015 the Central Bank of the Russian Federation issues commemorative coins of precious metals:
- A silver proof coin in denomination of 2 Roubles — «The Centenary of Pianist S.Т. Richter’s Birth» (catalogue number
5110-0138) of the series «Outstanding Personalities of Russia»; - A silver proof coin in denomination of 25 Roubles — «Petroff Palace, Moscow» (catalogue number
5115-0105) of the series «Architectural Monuments of Russia»; - A silver proof coin in denomination of 25 Roubles — «Yaroslavskiy Station (F.O. Schechtel)» (catalogue number
5115-0106) of the series «Architectural Masterpieces of Russia».
Description of the coins of precious metals:
A silver proof coin «The Centenary of Pianist S.Т. Richter’s Birth» in denomination of 2 Roubles (fine metal content 15,55 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 33,0 mm, mintage 3000 pcs), has the rim raised on both sides of the coin along the circumference. The edge of the coin is corrugated.
The obverse: a relief image of the Emblem of the Bank of Russia — a two-headed eagle with wings down, and a semicircular inscription under it «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA), framed with a circle of beads. Inscriptions along the rim divided by dots indicate the denomination of the coin «ДВА РУБЛЯ» (TWO ROUBLES) and the year of issue «2015», between them there is an indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trade mark of the Moscow mint and fine precious metal content.

The reverse side of the coin bears a relief image of a portrait of S.Т. Richter and a contour image of a part of a piano on the left. There are inscriptions — «С.Т. РИХТЕР» (S.Т. RICHTER) at the bottom on the left and dates

A silver proof coin «Petroff Palace, Moscow» in denomination of 25 Roubles (fine metal content 155,5 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 60,0 mm, mintage 1000 pcs), has the rim raised on both sides of the coin along the circumference. The edge of the coin is corrugated.
The obverse: a relief image of the Emblem of the Bank of Russia — a two-headed eagle with wings down, and a semicircular inscription under it «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA), framed with a circle of beads. Inscriptions along the rim divided by dots indicate the denomination of the coin «ДВАДЦАТЬ ПЯТЬ РУБЛЕЙ» (TWENTY FIVE ROUBLES) and the year of issue «2015», between them there is an indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trade mark of the Moscow mint and fine precious metal content.

The reverse side of the coin depicts relief images of Petroff palace, intertwined capital letters of the palace name and three horses harnessed abreast in a sledge with a rider against a background of people, horsemen and horse-drawn carriages on a mat field below. There are inscriptions — «ПЕТРОВСКИЙ ПУТЕВОЙ ДВОРЕЦ» (PETROFF PALACE) along the circumference on top and «МОСКВА» (MOSCOW) under the image of the palace.

A silver proof coin «Yaroslavskiy Station (F.O. Schechtel)» in denomination of 25 Roubles (fine metal content 155,5 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 60,0 mm, mintage 1000 pcs), has the rim raised on both sides of the coin along the circumference. The edge of the coin is corrugated.

The reverse side of the coin has relief images of a portrait of an architect F.O. Schechtel, Yaroslavskiy station in Moscow and a capital below performed in colour. There is an inscription in three lines under the portrait — «ФЕДОР ОСИПОВИЧ ШЕХТЕЛЬ» (FYODOR OSIPOVICH SCHECHTEL).

The coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation. They are obligatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value.
