On issuing of coins of precious and base metals

On August 1, 2016 the Central Bank of the Russian Federation issues commemorative coins of:

Precious metal:

  • A silver proof coin in denomination of 3 Roubles (catalogue number 5111-0338) “The 350th Anniversary of the Foundation of Ulan-Ude”;
  • Silver proof coins in denomination of 3 Roubles (catalogue number 5111-0339) “The Loan Treasury Building in Nastasyinskiy Lane, Moscow” and 25 Roubles (catalogue number 5115-0121) “St. John the Theologian Monastery, Poshchupovo Village of Ryazan Region” of the series “Architectural Monuments of Russia”;

Base metals:

  • In denomination of 10 Roubles – “Irkutsk Region” of the series “The Russian Federation”;
  • In denomination of 5 Roubles – “Kiev”, “Minsk”, “Vilnius”, “Kishinev”, “Bucharest”, “Tallinn”, “Riga”, “Belgrade”, “Warsaw”, “Budapest”, “Bratislava”, “Vienna”, “Berlin”, “Prague” of the series “Capitals Liberated by Soviet Troops from Fascist Invaders”.

Description of the coins of precious metal:

A silver proof coin in denomination of 3 Roubles (fine metal content 31.1 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 39.0 mm, mintage 3000 pcs) “The 350th Anniversary of the Foundation of Ulan-Ude” has the rim raised on both sides of the coin along the circumference. The edge of the coin is corrugated.

The obverse side of the coin bears a relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation. There are inscriptions: “РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ” (RUSSIAN FEDERATION), “БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA), the denomination of the coin - “3 РУБЛЯ” (3 ROUBLES) and the year - “2016”, an indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trade mark of the Moscow mint and fine precious metal content.

The reverse side of the coin depicts relief images of a panorama of Ulan-Ude against a background of mountains and an emblem of Ulan-Ude. There are inscriptions: “УЛАН-УДЭ” (ULAN-UDE) along the circumference on top, “350 ЛЕТ” (350 YEARS) in two lines to the right of the emblem.

A silver proof coin in denomination of 3 Roubles (fine metal content 31.1 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 39.0 mm, mintage 3000 pcs) “The Loan Treasury Building in Nastasyinskiy Lane, Moscow” has the rim raised on both sides of the coin along the circumference. The edge of the coin is corrugated.

The obverse side of the coin bears a relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation. A silver proof coin in denomination of 25 Roubles (fine metal content 155.5 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 60.0 mm, mintage 1000 pcs) “St. John the Theologian Monastery, Poshchupovo Village of Ryazan Region” has the rim raised on both sides of the coin along the circumference. The edge of the coin is corrugated.

The obverse side of the coin bears a relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation. There are inscriptions: “РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ” (RUSSIAN FEDERATION), “БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA), the denomination of the coin - “25 РУБЛЕЙ” (25 ROUBLES) and the year - “2016”, an indication of the metal according to the D.I. Description of the coins of base metals:

A coin in denomination of 10 Roubles is 27.0 mm in diameter, combined, consists of two parts: a disc made of white metal and an outer ring around the disc made of yellow metal. A coin has the rim raised on both sides of the coin along the circumference. The edge of the coin is corrugated and has an inscription “ДЕСЯТЬ РУБЛЕЙ” (TEN ROUBLES) recurring twice and divided by asterisks.

The obverse side of the coin has inscriptions along the circumference: “БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA) on top, “2016” at the bottom. On the left and on the right sides of the outer ring of the coin there are stylized images of laurel and oak branches respectively, going over to the disc. In the center of the disc there is an indication of the face value of the coin “10 РУБЛЕЙ” (10 ROUBLES) in two lines. Inside the figure “0” there is a protective element in the form of the figure “10” and an inscription “РУБ” (RUB) visible when changing angles of vision. In the lower part of the disc there is a trademark of a Mint.

The reverse side of the coin has a relief image of an emblem of Irkutsk region. There are inscriptions on the ring along the circumference: “РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ” (THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION) on top, “ИРКУТСКАЯ ОБЛАСТЬ” (IRKUTSK REGION) at the bottom. 

The mintage of the coin is 10000000 pcs.

Coins in denomination of 5 Roubles are 25.0 mm in diameter, white in colour and have the rim raised on both sides of the coins along the circumference. The edge of the coins is corrugated.

The obverse side of the coins has an indication of the face value of the coins “5 РУБЛЕЙ” (5 ROUBLES) in two lines in the center of the disc. There is an inscription below - “БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA) and the year of issue “2016” under it. On the left and on the right there is a stylized image of a plant branch. In the right part of the disc there is a trademark of a Mint.

The reverse side:

  • of the first coin has a relief image of a sculpture of the memorial complex “Monument-museum to the liberators of Kiev” in Kiev. There are inscriptions: “КИЕВ” (KIEV) framed by two stars along the circumference on top, “6 НОЯБРЯ 1943 г” (6TH OF NOVEMBER 1943) horizontally at the bottom;
  • of the second coin has a relief image of a part of the memorial “Mound of Glory” in Smolevichi district of Minsk region. There are inscriptions: “МИНСК” (MINSK) framed by two stars along the circumference on top, “3 ИЮЛЯ 1944 г.” (3RD OF JULY 1944) horizontally at the bottom;
  • of the third coin has a relief image of the monument to Soldiers-liberators in Vilnius. There are inscriptions: “ВИЛЬНЮС” (VILNIUS) framed by two stars along the circumference on top, “13 ИЮЛЯ 1944 г.” (13TH OF JULY 1944) horizontally at the bottom;
  • of the fourth coin has a relief image of a part of the Memorial of martial glory in Kishinev. There are inscriptions: “КИШИНЕВ” (KISHINEV) framed by two stars along the circumference on top, “24 АВГУСТА 1944 г.” (24TH OF AUGUST 1944) horizontally at the bottom;
  • of the fifth coin has a relief image of the monument to a soldier-liberator in Bucharest. There are inscriptions: “БУХАРЕСТ” (BUCHAREST) framed by two stars along the circumference on top, “31 АВГУСТА 1944 г.” (31ST OF AUGUST 1944) horizontally at the bottom;
  • of the sixth coin has a relief image of the monument to a soldier-liberator in Tallinn. There are inscriptions: “ТАЛЛИН” (TALLINN) framed by two stars along the circumference on top, “22 СЕНТЯБРЯ 1944 г.” (22ND OF SEPTEMBER 1944) horizontally at the bottom;
  • of the seventh coin has a relief image of the monument to the liberators of Riga in Riga. There are inscriptions: “РИГА” (RIGA) framed by two stars along the circumference on top, “15 ОКТЯБРЯ 1944 г.” (15TH OF OCTOBER 1944) horizontally at the bottom;
  • of the eighth coin has a relief image of a part of the monument to soldiers-liberators in Belgrade. There are inscriptions: “БЕЛГРАД” (BELGRADE) framed by two stars along the circumference on top, “20 ОКТЯБРЯ 1944 г.” (20TH OF OCTOBER 1944) horizontally at the bottom;
  • of the ninth coin has a relief image of a sculptural group in the Cemetery-mausoleum of soviet soldiers in Warsaw. There are inscriptions: “ВАРШАВА” (WARSAW) framed by two stars along the circumference on top, “17 ЯНВАРЯ 1945 г.” (17TH OF JANUARY 1945) horizontally at the bottom;
  • of the tenth coin has a relief image of the monument in memory of soldiers-liberators in Budapest. There are inscriptions: “БУДАПЕШТ” (BUDAPEST) framed by two stars along the circumference on top, “13 ФЕВРАЛЯ 1945 г.” (13TH OF FEBRUARY 1945) horizontally at the bottom;
  • of the eleventh coin has relief images of parts of the Monument-mausoleum to fallen soldiers of the Soviet Army in Bratislava. There are inscriptions: “БРАТИСЛАВА” (BRATISLAVA) framed by two stars along the circumference on top, “4 АПРЕЛЯ 1945 г.” (4TH OF APRIL 1945) horizontally at the bottom;
  • of the twelfth coin has a relief image of the Monument to soviet soldiers in Vienna. There are inscriptions: “ВЕНА” (VIENNA) framed by two stars along the circumference on top, “13 АПРЕЛЯ 1945 г.” (13TH OF APRIL 1945) horizontally at the bottom;
  • of the thirteenth coin has a relief image of the monument to a soldier-liberator in Berlin. There are inscriptions: “БЕРЛИН” (BERLIN) framed by two stars along the circumference on top, “2 МАЯ 1945 г.” (2ND OF MAY 1945) horizontally at the bottom;
  • of the fourteenth  coin has a relief image of a sculpture of the memorial to soviet soldiers in Prague. There are inscriptions: “ПРАГА” (PRAGUE) framed by two stars along the circumference on top, “9 МАЯ 1945 г.” (9TH OF MAY 1945) horizontally at the bottom.

The mintage of the coins is 2000000 pcs of each design.

The coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation. They are obligatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value.
