On issuing of commemorative coin of precious metals
On March 1, 2017 the Central Bank of the Russian Federation issues a commemorative coin of precious metal:
- A silver proof coin in denomination of 3 Roubles - “Surb-Khach Monastery, Republic of Crimea” (catalogue number 5111-0357) of the series “Architectural Monuments of Russia”.
Description of the coin of precious metal:
A silver proof coin in denomination of 3 Roubles (fine metal content 31.1 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 39.0 mm, mintage 5000 pcs) has the rim raised on both sides of the coin along the circumference. The edge of the coin is corrugated.
The obverse side of the coin bears a relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation. There are inscriptions: “РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ” (RUSSIAN FEDERATION), “БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA), the denomination of the coin - “3 РУБЛЯ” (3 ROUBLES) and the year - “2017”, an indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trade mark of the Moscow mint and fine precious metal content.

The reverse side of the coin depicts a relief image of Surb-Khach monastery. There are inscriptions: “МОНАСТЫРЬ СУРБ-ХАЧ” (SURB-KHACH MONASTERY) along the circumference on top, “ОСН. В XIV в.” (FOUNDED IN XIV CENTURY) in two lines on the left, “РЕСПУБЛИКА КРЫМ” (REPUBLIC OF CRIMEA) in two lines at the bottom.

The coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation. They are obligatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value.
