News

Doors Open Day will take place in Bank of Russia branches throughout the country on 1 October 2016, where Russians could submit their votes for new 200-ruble and 2,000-ruble banknote symbols. All they have to do is to fill in a form by marking two symbols they like and put it in a special box.

Bank of Russia branches that will be open for voting are listed on its official website and on Твоя-Россия.рф website.

In the meantime, Твоя-Россия.рф website is still a hot place with the on-line selection going on. As of 10:00 a.m. 30 September 2016, the top position is taken by Sochi with 287,859 votes followed by the symbols of Far East (281,330 votes) which ousted Kazan (276,442 votes). Sevastopol dropped to the fourth position with 274,252 votes. One needs to mention that the gap between the second and the fourth positions is rather small — less than 7,000 votes. Volgograd is still holding the fifth position with 242,321 votes, while a recent topper Irkutsk experienced an impressive setback to the ninth place after Petrozavodsk, Nizhny Novgorod and Vladimir. Sergiyev Posad takes the last position in Top 10.

Over 2.3 million users have already submitted their votes in the final round on Твоя-Россия.рф website.

The all-Russian selection of symbols for new 200- and 2,000-ruble banknotes was initiated by the Bank of Russia. Never before the Russians could suggest and select symbols for new banknotes by themselves. The competition will be a three-round procedure with 7 October 2016 being its final day when the winners will be announced.
