Bank of Russia releases Financial Congress programme and opens registration

The business programme of the Congress will begin with two plenary sessions on 1 July.

The first plenary session, featuring the participation of Bank of Russia Governor Elvira Nabiullina, will discuss to what extent the economy has returned to balanced growth, the role of macroeconomic policy, the importance of low inflation, and how volatile external conditions may affect the economy.

The second plenary session will focus on how modern technologies and innovations are changing strategies of financial market participants and customer experience, and what needs to be done to accelerate market development.

The programme also includes 21 panel sessions, which will be held on 2–3 July and cover a wide range of topics. These include monetary and fiscal policy interaction, current developments in the global economy, specific exchange rate factors, and challenges faced by the banking sector. Congress participants will also discuss ways to prevent insider trading and manipulation, future needs of investors, and when first cryptocurrency transactions are expected to take place.

The discussions will be attended by Bank of Russia top managers, representatives of leading Russian financial institutions, government authorities, and the expert community.
