Bank of Russia issues new commemorative coins
On 1 August 2019, the Bank of Russia releases three commemorative silver one-ruble coins into circulation. These coins will be issued in the series ‘Armed Forces of the Russian Federation’ (Nuclear Support Units of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation).
The reverse of one of the coins features the emblem of the Nuclear Support Units; the second coin — images of a strategic bomber, a mobile missile system, a nuclear-powered missile submarine, and stylised electron orbitals; the third coin — an image of the shoulder sleeve insignia of the 12th Main Directorate of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation. The mintage of the coins is 5,000 pcs of each design.
Since 2005, the Bank of Russia has issued 27 coins in the The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation series.
