Mortgage portfolio reaches 6.5 trillion rubles

As of 1 February 2019, the total amount of outstanding housing mortgage loans (HMLs) soared by 23.8% compared to the same date last year to reach 6.5 trillion rubles. At the same time, according to the data published on the Bank of Russia's website, the share of overdue debt on HMLs dropped from 1.3 to 1.1%.
In January 2019, the amount of HMLs extended rose by 12.7% vs January 2018. During the month, 78.2 thousand housing mortgage loans were extended at a total of 167 billion rubles.
The weighted average interest rate on ruble loans registered in January 2019 was 9.87%, changing slightly vs December. No foreign currency-denominated loans were issued.
