Bank of Russia to unveil new issue of Money and Credit

Macroeconomic Situation: Current Assessment and Outlook. Director of the Federal Budget-Financed Research Institution ‘Macroeconomic Research Institute’, Maxim Kulikov, analyses whether the Russian economy managed to find internal resources and overcome the crisis under the adverse impact of external factors and what economic stimulus measures are conducive to the transition to a sustainable growth path.

Approaches to Determine Quantitative Parameters of Regional Currency and Financial Integration. Anton Navoi, Dr. Sc. (Economics), based on the Consolidated Balance of Payments of the Russia-Belarus Union State, studies various stages of regional integration, including external economic ties of integration associations and the role of regional balances of payments. This publication is one of the first papers devoted to issues of compiling the balance of payments of the Russia-Belarus Union State.

Safety of Cash and Valuables Circulation. An international conference of the same name was held in Kazan in October 2015. The conference focused on setting up the Association of Russian Carriers with the main task of clearing the cash collection market of dishonest players, the so-called illegal (‘black’ or ‘grey’) carriers, among other things. Besides, the conference participants discussed and approved a draft standard for cash collection and transportation to form the basis for general rules and principles in this sphere. The Historical Pages section publishes an article by Alexander Bugrov, Cand. Sc. (History), Platinum Coin Circulation in Russia. The author indicates that Russia was the first country to mint platinum coins for circulation. The coins of three-, six- and twelve-ruble denominations were minted by the Saint Petersburg Mint in 1828-1845 and for many years were in circulation and saved by the people.
