Monetary conditions tighten again in November–December

In November and the first half of December 2024, credit and deposit rates continued growing and stabilised at the high levels following the Bank of Russia Board of Directors’ decision to keep the key rate unchanged.
According to recent data, the growth of both corporate and retail lending was still decelerating in December. Households continued depositing their money with banks. The annual growth rate of monetary aggregates was down.
