Bank of Russia includes first company in register of payment acceptance operators
OOO Tsifrovye Innovatsii (LLC Digital Innovations) was the first company to be put on the register of payment acceptance operators. The Bank of Russia established the inclusion procedure in the related ordinance.
Operators provide services accepting cash payments through both cash desks and payment terminals and allow individuals to pay for goods and services (for example, housing and utility services, communication services, TV, and Internet) and make compulsory payments.
The law stipulating new requirements for such operators, their governance bodies and management came into force on 1 October 2023. Companies accepting payments as operators as at this date will be able to operate without being included in the Bank of Russia’s register only during the transition period until 1 October 2024.
