Requirements for banks to protect information when performing transactions with digital rubles developed
Complying with these requirements will allow banks to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of information when executing transactions with digital rubles by individuals and companies. In particular, information about funds in digital wallets, transactions with the national digital currency, and user authorisation and identification data will be protected.
raft regulation of the Bank of Russia establishes several special requirements that will apply to banks in addition to those already in place for traditional transfers. Thus, the document outlines the requirements for the minimum class of means of cryptographic protection of information when exchanging electronic messages.
According to the draft regulation, banks are required to use an electronic signature, the supporting documents for which are issued by the certification centre of the Bank of Russia. In addition, the document also describes the requirements in particular for mobile banking and online banking applications used by customers for digital ruble transactions.
Comments and suggestions regarding the draft will be accepted until 11 August 2023.
