New commemorative coins issued in the series ‘Outstanding Personalities of Russia’

On 1 February 2018, the Bank of Russia issues two silver proof commemorative coins in denomination of 2 rubles. The first is devoted to the 200th anniversary of the ballet master Marius Petipa's birth, the second — to the 150th anniversary of the writer Maxim Gorky's birth.

The reverse side of the first coin depicts relief images of M.I. Petipa's portrait and dancing duo against the background of the theatrical curtain. The reverse side of the second coin depicts relief images of Maxim Gorky's portrait and petrel under it.
Both coins are issued in the series ‘Outstanding Personalities of Russia’; the mintage of the coins is 3,000 pcs of each design.
