Suspicious transactions in banking sector decrease by 5% in 2022

Such transactions totalled 100 billion rubles in 2022, compared to 105 billion rubles in the previous year. One of the factors that ensured this reduction was the deployment of the Bank of Russia’s platform Know Your Customer.
Illegal capital outflow amounted to 36 billion rubles, which is the lowest level on record and 16% less than in 2021.
Cash-outs in the banking sector edged up slightly year-on-year to 64 billion rubles. Contrastingly, cash-outs in the non-bank sector was down by 5% to 29 billion rubles.
