Bank of Russia issues new commemorative coins

On 20 April 2017, the Bank of Russia issues a commemorative coin in denomination of 10 rubles ‘Olonets, Republic of Karelia (1137)’.  The coin is a part of the series ‘Ancient Towns of Russia’. The reverse side of it features the panorama of Olonets placed in the centre and the emblem of the town placed at the top.

 

The mintage of the coin is 5000000 pcs.

The issue also includes two coins in denomination of 2 rubles, ‘The Hero City of Kerch’ and ‘The Hero City of Sevastopol’.

The reverse side of the former has a picture of Kerch-Eltigen landing operation in the centre, and the reverse side of the latter has the images of soldiers and the Monument to the Scuttled Ships. The left part of both coins has the image of the medal “Gold Star”.

 

The mintage of the coins is 5000000 pcs of each design.
