the mirror field of the disc bears a relief image of the National Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation, over it along the rim there is the semicircular inscription "РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ" (RUSSIAN FEDERATION) framed on both sides by doubled rhombuses, below under the coat of arms there are indications of the precious metal and its fineness on the left and the fine metal content and the mint trade mark on the right, at the bottom in the centre there is a three-line inscription "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA), the denomination of the coin "50 РУБЛЕЙ" (50 RUBLES), and the year of issue "2019 г." (2019).
Reverse
the mirror field of the disc bears relief images of the Spasskaya Tower of the Moscow Kremlin in Red Square in Moscow and Tiananmen Gate in Tiananmen Square in Beijing, between and below the images there is a five-line inscription ‘70 ЛЕТ ДИПЛОМАТИЧЕСКИМ ОТНОШЕНИЯМ РОССИЯ–КНР’ (70 YEARS OF RUSSIA–PRC RELATIONS).

On 1 October 1949, in Beijing, the foundation of the People’s Republic of China was declared from the tribune over Tiananmen Gate. On the next day, on 2 October 1949, the Soviet Union was the first to recognise the PRC and to announce its readiness to establish diplomatic relations with China.
