Obverse

in the centre - the emblem of the Bank of Russia [the two-headed eagle with wings down, under it - the semicircular inscription "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA)] framed by a circle of dots and inscriptions along the rim - on top: "ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ РУБЛЕЙ" (FIFTY RUBLES), below: to the left - indications of the precious metal and its fineness, in the centre - the year of issue "2009 г." (2009), to the right - the fine metal content and the mint trade mark.

Reverse

in the frame of stylized arc in the centre - the image of Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Kozhevniki, inscriptions along the ring - on top on the matted surface of the arc: "ВЕЛИКИЙ НОВГОРОД И ОКРЕСТНОСТИ" (VELIKIY NOVGOROD AND SUBBURBS), on bottom: "Ц.ПЕТРА И ПАВЛА В КОЖЕВНИКАХ" (STS. PETER AND PAUL IN KOZHEVNIKI).

Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Kozhevniki (1406) built due to the donations of tanner-craftsmen is richly adomed by decorations and is not plastered, which provides the possibility to f observe the appearance of an ancient Russian temple.
