Obverse

in the centre – the emblem of the Bank of Russia [the two-headed eagle with wings down, under it – the semicircular inscription «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA)] framed by a circle of dots and inscriptions along the rim – on top: «СТО РУБЛЕЙ» (ONE HUNDRED RUBLES), below: to the left – indications of the precious metal and its fineness, in the centre – the year of issue «2007 г.» (2007), to the right – the fine metal content and the mint trade mark.

Reverse

in the centre – the painter’s figure at work against the background of arches covered with frescoes, above – cathedral’s cupolas, the sun, the half-moon and stars, to the left and to the right – vertical inscriptions «Андрей» and «Рублев» («Andrew» and «Rublyov»), churches and trees, below – figures of people, builders, warriers and a saling boat on river.

In 1408 Andrew Rublyov together with Daniel Chorny created frescos in the Assumption Cathedral in the City of Vladimir (the frescos have survived partially till now) and painted icons for its monumental tree-storeyed iconostasis.
