Obverse

the mirror field of the disc bears a relief image of the National Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation, over it along the rim there is the semicircular inscription "РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ" (RUSSIAN FEDERATION) framed on both sides by doubled rhombuses, below under the coat of arms there are indications of the precious metal and its fineness on the left and the fine metal content and the mint trade mark on the right, at the bottom in the centre, in three lines, there is an inscription "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA), the denomination of the coin "3 РУБЛЯ" (3 RUBLES), and the year of issue "2019 г." (2019).

Reverse

the field of the disc divided into mirror and matte sections depicts stylised images of the building of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation and the printed wiring board, as well as the University’s emblem and a relief image of bay leaves; along the rim there is an inscription: "ФИНАНСОВЫЙ УНИВЕРСИТЕТ ПРИ ПРАВИТЕЛЬСТВЕ РОССИЙСКОЙ ФЕДЕРАЦИИ" (FINANCIAL UNIVERSITY UNDER THE GOVERNMENT OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION).

Centenary of the Financial University

The Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation is one of the oldest Russian universities. It trains economists, financial experts, financial lawyers, mathematicians, IT specialists, sociologists, and political scientists.

The university was founded in 1919 as the Moscow Institute of Economics and Finance. It started out as an institute later becoming an academy focused on finance and banking specialist training, finally going on to be a major research institution that incorporates several institutes, colleges, high schools and research centres.

The alumni of the university include the Prime Minister of the USSR Valentin Pavlov; Finance Ministers of the USSR, the Russian SFSR and the Russian Federation Arseny Zverev, Ivan Fadeev, Igor Lazarev, Vladimir Orlov, Vladimir Panskov, and Boris Fedorov; Governors of the State Bank/Central Bank of the Russian Federation Nikolai Sokolov, Nikolai Garetovsky, and Viktor Gerashchenko.
