Obverse

in the center — the Emblem of the Bank of Russia [the two-headed eagle with wings down, lower — the semicircular inscription — «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA)] framed by a circle of dots and inscriptions along the rim: at the top — «ТРИ РУБЛЯ» (THREE RUBLES), at the bottom — the year of issue «2001», the letters to the left indicate the metal sign and the fineness, to the right — the fine metal content and the mint trade mark.

Reverse

the picture of the Emblem of the Commonwealth of Independent States, at the bottom — a hexagon framed by leafs, on the surface of the hexagon — hidden pictures of the figure «10» and of the word «ЛЕТ» (YEARS) written to the left, which are visible by turns only on changing the angle of vision. The inscription along the rim: «СОДРУЖЕСТВО НЕЗАВИСИМЫХ ГОСУДАРСТВ» (the Commonwealth of Independent States).

On December 8, 1991 the Agreement between the Republic of Byelorussia, Russia and The Ukraine Republic was signed to create the intergovernmental Association – the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). On December 21, 1991 the Republics of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Khyrghystan, Moldova, Tadjikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan joined the Agreement.
