the two-headed eagle designed by artist I. Bilibin. The inscriptions along the rim: at the top — «100 РУБЛЕЙ 1996 г.» (100 RUBLES 1996), at the bottom — «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA). The letters below indicate the metal sign, the fineness, the mint trademark and the fine metal content.

A picture an amur tiger being weighted down, in the background - a flying bird, firs. The inscription along the rim - "СОХРАНИМ НАШ МИР" (PROTECT OUR WORLD).

The Amur tiger is now found in the Maritime Territory of the Far East, while in the past its permanent habitat extended as far as the left bank of the River Amur. It is entered into the Red Book of the International Union for the Protection of Nature and Natural Resources. Hunting the Amur tiger has been banned in Russia since 1947.
